Enchanted Childcare

Enchanted Childcare - Nanny Agency East Surrey

Whether it’s a Doula, Maternity Nurse or Night Nanny you require Enchanted Childcare can assist you in finding the right childcare for you.

A doula is an experienced, non-medical assistant who provides physical, emotional and informed choice support in prenatal care, during childbirth and during the postpartum period. A birth doula is a continuous care provider for labour in many settings, also assisting the parturient woman during transport from home to hospital or birth centre. A postpartum doula may begin care in the home (nutritious cooking for the mother, breastfeeding support, newborn care assistance, maternal-child bonding support, errands, light housekeeping) the next day after the birth, providing services through the first six weeks postpartum. In some cases, doula care can last several months or even to a year post partum - especially in cases when mothers are suffering from post partum depression, children with special needs require longer care, or there are multiple infants.

A Maternity Nurse will be on duty five, five and a half or six days per week 24 hours if they live in; they can also work an 8 – 12 hour routine days or nights only. This depends on what you require from your private maternity nurse and will be discussed with our Maternity Nurse Consultant at the point of registration to get the right maternity nursing routine for you and your family.

Whether you book a private maternity nurse for a 24 hour routine or 8-12 hours only, your private maternity nurse will set up that all important routine to ensure your baby’s weight gain, growth and optimum sleeping patterns. You will be able to rest assisting a quicker post-partum recovery whether you plan a normal delivery or a C-Section. You will also be able to get a good night’s sleep as our Maternity Nurse will take care of your baby throughout the night leaving you to sleep and wake up refreshed. Our Maternity Nurses will support and teach you whether you decide to breastfeed or use formula.

Night Nannies
Night Nannies usually work either 9pm – 7am or 10pm – 6am. These hours can be more flexible if pre-arranged directly with the maternity nurse.  She will not only care for your child, but will also guide your child to sleep through the night.
A Night Nanny will take care of night feeds; change, wind and re-settle your baby.

They will also:
• Prepare and sterilise bottles
• Dress and prepare the baby in the morning
• Give help and advice on getting the baby into a sleep routine
• Offer strategies on coping with post-natal depression
• Stay longer in the mornings to allow you a lie-in
• Give advice on breast-feeding
They usually share a room with the baby and should be allow to rest if the baby is sleeping.  Please provide a bed and clean linen.
